Beauty For Ashes...

"...beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor." Isaiah 61:3

13 more weeks to go!

27 weeks!

Well, it's great to be home!! Don't tell CT, but I do miss Kenya already. I miss my friends and our boys, but am also enjoying being home with our family and friends. Even more so today because we just got word that a close friend is miscarrying her little boy at 17 weeks. She has been bleeding nearly the entire time, which she did with her first. But it has gotten worse this time. She was on bed rest until the baby comes in August. They were going to come stay in our house for the next several weeks so that friends would be closer to them since they live further out. We haven't heard an update as to how Jen is doing medically. Our hearts are just so broken for them. Please pray for them as the Lord lays them on your hearts.

As for us, I'm feeling really good and this baby is still wiggling around. I guess most of you know by now, well all except those bloggy-land friends, that... IT'S A BOY!!! His name shall be called Ezra Lewis. This is a name we had picked out a few years ago and it was the only one of 5 or 6 that both of us LOVED since we've been pregnant. We had about 5-6 that we liked, but we both LOVED Ezra. So Ezra is our biblical name meaning "helper" and Lewis, our family name after CT's great grandfather. Ezra is still active, but i remember him being much more active in Kenya. Maybe he's just not quite used to America yet and all it's preservatives and hormones in the foods. Maybe he just misses Avocados.

My father in law is a paramedic and said "I can't believe how big you are! You look full term!" I agree completely. Again, I don't mind a bigger baby, but I don't exactly want a MASSIVE one. Can you blame me? So since I went to the MD at 25 weeks, I've been watching my sweets. I ended up not gaining a single pound for 2 weeks. Good Girl!

Every time CT and I come back to the US, we get sick. So CT had a fever on night 3 with cold like symptoms. Now, I have the cold like symptoms, but no fever thankfully. Just achy and yuck. I'll be glad to get back to the warm weather in Kenya where we stay nice and healthy with the occasional side of diarrhea! haha!

My dear friend Jessica has recently taken up photography and i gotta hand it to her, she's pretty stinkin' good! We were privileged to be her subjects this past week. These are a few pics from our photo shoot. There are a few more that I don't have yet that i just love. I will post those later.

  1. You so purdy. Seriously, you are probably the most beautiful pregnant woman I've ever seen. And I'm not just saying that.

    Love you!
