I sent SWS (social worker- you know who) a text message Friday that said "Is the Home study finished? If not- WHY?" I waited until 5pm then laid my phone down as we had a big cook out with Livingstone staff, their families, and our guests. I laid my phone down for the whole weekend and picked it back up Sunday night after most of the guests were gone. SWS had written back saying he was in court- sorry. He had confirmed with his Boss that our homestudy was completed! So I sent him a message saying "Great! We will come by and pick it up in the morning, see you then. THANK YOU." You see, SWS doesn't always answer my calls nor does he text me back. So we showed up at 9:15 Monday morning with our smiles on, thinking we were going to get our home study. SWS came out of their morning meeting, greeted us, then told us he would get us back with Boss lady in a moment. We waited, then went back to see Boss lady. We sat down, made small talk- then.... awkward silence. She smiled and just looked at us. We raised our eye brows and looked back at her until she said "SWS said you wanted to see me?"
"We're just here to pick up our homestudy, SWS, said it was complete!" She replied "Oh no. I had to be approved by CAS first." We felt like total goofs! But then again, we are usually the last to know things. We thought we would pay them the rest of the money, pick it up, and mail it to CAS. Opps! So are you ready for the funny part? Boss lady tells us how sorry she is that it took 2 months for her to read it. Then she said it took even longer b/c during her 3 weeks in Europe- she LEFT our homestudy in EUROPE! Yep. She left our children in Europe. So then she had to wait for them to mail it back to her. Hmmmm. Interesting. SWS had a copy of it and there was one on the computer. It's okay. We're over it. At least we are now moving forward. Just thought it was "funny" enough to share with you that our children were left in Europe.
(See below post also. I know! Two at once!)
Wow, what a lazy collection of people they have working over there. They'd be the people here that take breaks every 5 minutes, even if they have to pick up smoking to "excuse" it.
