After the events of Shaggy's death last year then the death of poor ol' Pepper in June, it was time for Thomas and I to try again. I picked the dog and he picked the cat. Okay, well I picked the dog and Zippy and I picked the cat. :) About a month ago we took a trip to KSPCA and paid $7.50 for a fully vaccinated cat and it includes her getting fixed as well. Can't beat that with a stick. Got a great deal on a pup too! Ol' stray mut needed a home and we were looking for a good guard dog. He had big feet so I figured he'd get big. We wanted them young so that they could learn to live with one another. Jaba (the Hut- AKA the dog) is constantly carrying poor Lana (Lang from Superman- AKA the cat) around by either an ear or her tail. I have to separate them in the morning after i feed them just so that my quiet time can actually be.. well QUIET!

I will say though, I think i picked a good dog. He's VERY obedient and also VERY sweet. I'm not sure how much of a security dog he is going to be. I caught he and the monkey "playing" the other day. The monkey was sitting on the lowest branch possible showing his teeth at Jaba repeatedly. Jaba wasn't in the least bit scared. Mr. Monkey (he really needs a name!) pays a visit EVERY SINGLE DAY. We think he wants to eat Lana. Hopefully she'll still be around when we get back from Tanzania!

Oh- about their food. This is the best part about having them. They cost me $3.50 a month to feed! :) I make cooked chicken intestines and what nots from the chickens. They LOVE it! And I LOVE SAVING MONEY!! So I just buy the cheapest rice at the market and put the chicken nasties with it. Although, it stinks REAL bad and CT says I'm not allowed to cook it anymore. Hmmmm.... maybe I can get Zippy to do it. ;)
