Beauty For Ashes...
"...beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor." Isaiah 61:3

lesson #1: ALWAYS listen to your husband
Well, I should have listened to my hubby last night and waited to post something until the HS was in my hands and CORRECT. After I paid them and picked it up today I was reading it on the way home from Kibera. It turns out our combined income said we MAKE $77,000! Woohoo- we are some rich missionaries, huh? They had very wrong info on our home study. Um, maybe it's b/c no one would let us read it or look at it. So CT and I were very bummed to say the least. I didn't really greet Zippy like I normally do when I come home (greeting is a big deal here). As I got out of the van she met me saying "Are those your papers?" I just shook her hand and said "they aren't right." CT and I quickly called Susan and informed her of this mistake. She said she would call us back so we discussed our plan of action. Chris said he would talk to her when she called back. He told me he thought something was wrong with Zippy. He said he just knew something was the matter. So I nonchalantly went into the kitchen and asked her how her day was- she just said "mzuri". I inquired more b/c I saw tears in her eyes. I told her she could tell me if she wanted to. She said "I feel bad for your news." I put her head on my shoulder and she cried!! HOW TENDER! I hadn't even cried about it at all. I knew that God was going to take care of it. I honestly was rather cool about it all (surprisingly so). But my sweet friend hurt so bad for me! Gosh- I know this was stinky news, but I saw how much my friend loves me today. Daddy got on the phone and started getting things headed in the right direction. So we are back on track. For those of you who want to pray- just pray that we get this corrected by Wednesday when Laura and Ryan leave to come back to the US. They were planning on bringing our stuff to mail off from the US.

STINK!! This is much like us hearing our agency say, "We have no timeline for your approvals or referrals. We will just have to wait this out." Wahoo.
ReplyDeleteGod's time. God's time. God's time. I am sure that it will happen for all of us, now if we could just be patient while we wait on Him...
Praying for swiftness. Love and miss you SO much.
